The Peony Blossom Build-A-Flower has a slightly different approach than our conventional Build-A-Flower sets. The stamp set has three five-petal flowers accompanied by a shading layer and a center layer. You may use these flowers as is, or layer them to create dimension. The matching dies will cut the flowers all the way to the edge without leaving a border. This will help in shaping the petals to the desired dimension when using a shaping tool (don't have a shaping tool? You can use the domed end of a pen or pencil!). We included an additional flower die and stamen dies to help you create realistic blooms! Even though we named the set 'Peony Blossom' since the petals were loosely based on Peony petals, you can let your imagination run wild and create different types of flowers! We can't wait to see what you come up with!
This special product is only sold as a set, not individually.
Let's jump right in with my first card:)) where I did some masking and colored with Ziggys. The sentiment is from
Everything About You.
When stamping the blooms, I started with the smallest detailed image and then worked up to the largest, making sure the petals were off-set from each other for more interest.
Utilizing a new technique I learned from the Dynamic Die-Cutting class at Altenew Academy, I positioned the smallest
Build-A-Flower: Peony Blossom die and leaves around a circle to allow for a shadowed sentiment for the card below.
Then I stamped all the layers in the set using
Crisp Inks: Pink Diamond, Pinkolicious, Rubellite, Mountain Mist,Volcano Lake, and Lagoon. The sentiment is from
B-A-F: SAKURA BLOSSOM and embellished with
Enamel Dots.
Going a bit 'Shabby Chic' for my next card to show the versatility of the
Build-A-Flower: Peony Blossom set. I used the
dies only for this lush bloom, by cutting several of each blossom layer. All were colored with
Metallic Shimmer Sprays.
I scored each leaf with a tool and fiddled with each element to give it more dimension and body. The extra die elements in the cluster are from
Create-a-Wreath and
Leafy Garland. The sentiment, also from
B-A-F: SAKURA BLOSSOM, is embossed with
Antique Silver Crisp EP.
Tucked in behind the foliage in white is the Creative Edges: Lace Die. (check out how I used it to create a finished trim
here)
And for my final card today, I stamped and cut the blooms as shown in the
Layering guide & Sample 3D flower. It is SUPER easy to shape the blossom petals with a large ball stylist or round end of a pen pressing at the center of each die cut.
Stamping all the layers with
Crisp Inks: Pink Diamond, Pinkolicious for the petals and sponging a hint of Rubellite on the edges of each. For the leaves, I stamped with Mountain Mist,Volcano Lake, and Lagoon.
The
Watercolor Stripes Cover Die in white on white CS makes a lovely Clean and Simple background for the
Peony Blossoms. The sentiment is from
Layered Cupcake stamp set:)) the simple
Enamel Dots make perfect centers for the blossoms.
